1. Who we are

KaziAI Job Hunter is an AI-powered career platform operated from Nairobi, Kenya. We help Kenyan professionals find jobs, improve their CVs, and grow their careers. Our website is hosted at kazi-ai-v2.vercel.app. You can contact us at support@kaziai.co.ke.

2. What information we collect

We collect the following information when you use KaziAI:
  • Account information: your full name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash — we never store your actual password).
  • CV and career content: text you paste into our AI tools (CV, job descriptions, cover letters). This is processed by the Anthropic AI API to generate results.
  • Payment information: when you subscribe, payment details are handled directly by M-Pesa (Safaricom), Stripe, or PayPal. We store only a transaction reference ID — never your card number, M-Pesa PIN, or bank details.
  • Usage data: pages visited, tools used, and general interaction data collected through Google Analytics.
  • Waitlist data: name, email, and phone number if you join our waitlist before registering.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To process your CV and career content through our AI tools and return results to you.
  • To process subscription payments and maintain your plan status.
  • To send transactional emails such as account confirmations and password resets.
  • To improve the platform based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
  • To comply with legal obligations under Kenyan law.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only with:
  • Anthropic (AI processing): CV and career text you submit is sent to Anthropic's API to generate AI responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing. We do not send your name or account details to Anthropic.
  • Safaricom M-Pesa, Stripe, and PayPal (payments): payment processing is handled directly by these providers under their own privacy policies.
  • Vercel (hosting): our platform runs on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel processes server logs and request data.
  • Neon (database): your account and subscription data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon.
  • Google Analytics: anonymized usage data is shared with Google Analytics to help us understand how the platform is used.
  • Law enforcement: we will disclose information if required to do so by Kenyan law or a valid court order.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon on servers in the United States. We use SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with 12 salt rounds. Payment credentials are never stored on our servers. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. How long we keep your data

  • Account data: retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
  • CV and career content: processed in real time and not stored after your session. We do not retain the text you paste into AI tools.
  • Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by Kenyan tax law.
  • Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics per their standard data retention policy.

7. Your rights

Under Kenyan data protection law (the Data Protection Act 2019), you have the right to:
  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Object to processing of your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

8. Cookies

We use cookies for session management (keeping you logged in) and analytics (Google Analytics). You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect your ability to stay logged in.

9. Children

KaziAI is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us at support@kaziai.co.ke and we will delete the account.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of any material changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
